DRY CLEAN

WEARING

Garment care starts at the skin, so it is important to maintain personal hygiene and avoid excess sweating (protective deodorants with non-staining elements are ideal to combat this).

Unless stained or dirty, garments can be worn multiple times before washing. Spot treatment for staining is essential and it’s important to act fast as old stains are extremely stubborn.

DRY CLEAN

When dry-cleaning a garment, make sure to read the care label instructions and symbols carefully so your garments are being cared for properly. When choosing a dry cleaner, we highly recommend finding someone you trust.

Should your garments feature any delicate buttons or embroidery, make sure to let your dry cleaner know so to pay extra attention.

IRONING

Should your garment need ironing, make sure to check the care label first and set your iron on the appropriate temperature. A great and more gentle option is using a steamer as they are less harmful to the fabric fibres.

For cotton, wool and linen, we recommend using the steam option on the iron. It will gently smoothen out the cloth and the garment will flatten quicker.

For silk make sure to set your iron on a low temperature not to risk marking or burning it.

STORING

For storing make sure to place your garments in a cool and dry space. Not only to keep them clean and organised, but also protect them from moths. Anyone with a significant wardrobe should take proactive steps in protecting their wardrobe against clothing moths. Garments that are frequently worn are of less concern, should you however have garments that are kept in storage for a long time, these are the pieces that are most likely to fall victim to moths.

For suits, dresses and coats, we highly recommend using cotton garment bags as they allow the garment to breathe and offer great protection against moths since they don’t eat cotton. Otherwise, we also recommend storage boxes. Make sure they are well sealed.

Clean your wardrobe frequently. Turn off the light and always close the door after using it.

Lastly, the best way to protect your wardrobe is by actively rotating your garments. Make sure to wear them or take them out for a little shake every now and then. That little bit of movement will help to prevent your wardrobe being manifested by moths.
