GARMENT CARE AT HOME

WEARING

Garment care starts at the skin, so it is important to maintain personal hygiene and avoid excess sweating.

Generally garments can be worn multiple times before washing. Spot treatment for staining is essential and it’s important to act fast as old stains are extremely stubborn.

WASHING

When washing a garment, make sure to read the care label instructions and symbols thoroughly so your garments are cared for properly.

Should you have a stain on your garment, spot treat it immediately.

We recommend not to wash your garments on high temperature as it will age them more quickly.

Find a detergent that is delicate to the cloth and doesn’t contain bleach. Please do not use garment softeners as it damages the cloth and fades colours.

DRYING

Do not tumble dry your garments. Air dry them. Use hangers or clothing racks and place them in an open space where there is good air circulation.

Make sure to keep your garments away from radiators and ventilators.

Do not dry your garments under direct sunlight as it will fade the colours.

IRONING

Many garments don’t need ironing. To minimise or even prevent ironing, we recommend you to try setting your washing machine on ‘reduced creases’ or ‘reduce wrinkles’ cycle or to reduce the washing cycle altogether. This way your garments will come out wetter and dry almost crease-free if hung neatly on your drying rack. Take out your garments right after washing to prevent wrinkling. Give them a little shake and stretch before placing them on the rack.

Should you find it necessary to iron a garment, check the care label to set your iron on the appropriate temperature. A great option is using a steamer as they are less harmful to the fabric fibres.

STORING

Store garments in cool and dry spaces to protect them from moths.

For suits, dresses and coats, we highly recommend using cotton garment bags as they allow the garment to breathe and offer greater protection against moths. Otherwise, we also recommend storage boxes. Make sure they are well-sealed.

Clean your wardrobe frequently and close the door after use.
